The patience of the people of Kroonstad has run out.
Anger has been building up for years and it has come to a point where the residents are venting their frustrations in the streets of Maokeng and Brent Park.

The residents of Brent Park staged a peaceful protest a few weeks ago. Residents are complaining that service delivery has completely collapsed; serious problems with the electricity billing system, poor water supply, no allocation of RDP houses and unemployment is a huge problem especially among the youths.

The residents of Maokeng turned the streets into battlefields with the police, and they are raising exactly the same complaints that the residents of Brent Park have raised.

COPE can say without any doubt that this service delivery protest that has started in Kroonstad will spread around the Free State.

The former Premier of the Free State, Ace Magashule, who is now the Secretary General of the ANC has completely destroyed the province.

Not a single town in the Free State has proper administration. He has deployed his unqualified and corrupt allies in the provincial administration and in all the Municipalities – from Mayors to Municipal Managers.

The revelations in the book of Pieter-Louis Myburg – Gangster State, will soon be confirmed to the Zondo Commission, when senior and well respected leaders of the Free State give evidence before the commission.

COPE is calling on the people of Maokeng not to destroy their own buildings that are there to provide them with the necessary services – END-

Issued by the National Secretary of Communications, Dennis Bloem.
