It is believed that the suspects attacked the woman and made it off with an undisclosed number of items, including a rifle and revolver.

The Cape Winelands police have made key arrests in connection with a recent farm attack in Klapmuts.

As reported by EWN, four suspects have been nabbed by investigators in connection with a house robbery that took place at a farm in the small Cape Winelands town.

According to police spokesperson, Frederick Van Wyk, the suspects, this past week, made their way into the farm where a woman stayed with her children.

It is believed that the suspects attacked the woman and made it off with an undisclosed number of items, including a rifle and revolver.

The latter would turn out to be the much-needed breakthrough in the search for the perpetrators that left the family in trauma.

“The one suspect was found in possession of a 9mm firearm and after interviewing this suspect, further investigations led to the arrest of three other suspects,” Van Wyk revealed.

Right now, authorities are relying on the firearms that are linked to the farm that the suspects robbed, as well as the apparent cooperation of one of the suspects that played a key role in the arrest of his three fellow perpetrators.

Moreover, upon processing and interrogating the suspects, it was realised that one of the suspects was a former employee of the farm.

Although a motive for the robbery has yet to be established — seeing that the weapons were the only items recovered — it is believed that the former employee may have had unfinished business with the family.

Luckily, there were no reported injuries or deaths in the house robbery. All four suspects are expected to appear before the Paarl Magistrate’s Court on charges of robbery on Friday, 14 June.
