A disaster team has been dispatched to the town of Alice following heavy rains on Sunday.
“The overflow caused Alice town to be on a standstill as vehicles could barely manoeuvre from one place to another while some homes have been damaged,” she said.
The town, falls under the Raymond Mhlaba Municipality.
The overflow of the rain brought the town to a standstill as vehicles could barely move from one place to the next.
The team from the Amathole Districts Municipality will assess the extent of the damage on Monday.
Engineers are also on sight to clear fallen trees from the road.
