It has been revealed that the explosion at a Vanderbijlpark Eskom substation was actually human error.
A man who was given a job without qualifications and he short-circuited the station.
He left a spade hanging over two power cables while the electricity was gone.
Which cause the explosion when load shedding was over for the area.
His co-worker says he knew nothing about electricity and he brought unnecessary equipment to work.
An explosion at a substation in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng south, has left the town and surrounding areas without electricity.
The initial investigation found that the explosion was caused when a faulty feeder cable caught fire and blew up the circuit breaker and the transformer.
They didn’t mention a spade that has no place in a substation was the cause of the problem and that it was left hanging on the cable by an incompetent employee who has no qualifications whatsoever.
His co-worker said it was not the first time he made their life miserable at work. “The guy has no qualification but we get same salary all he does is tag along but he has no clue what he is doing at all, he doesn’t follow protocol and he brings tools that have no place in our work. He brought crowbars and digging forks.
He is a danger to us and himself, we haven’t seen him ever since we discovered his spade was the cause of the problem. I hope whoever hired him fired him”.
His co-workers also believed his highest qualification is only grade 11.https://newsoweto.co.za/eskom-employee-who-caused-an-explosion-at-vanderbijlpark-substation-only-have-grade-11/https://newsoweto.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/39bd45_6364e079a60549fa9e1d8ccd5ccc405b_mv2.jpghttps://newsoweto.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/39bd45_6364e079a60549fa9e1d8ccd5ccc405b_mv2-150x150.jpgMetroEskom
